Bathroom remodeling

Bathrooms fail from the inside out — water always finds the shortcut. We build them from the waterproofing up, so the tile you see is backed by membrane, slope, and flashing you don't.

What a THL bathroom includes.

Scoped line by line before demo day. Depending on the project, your written estimate can cover:

  • Demolition down to studs and subfloor where needed
  • Tub-to-shower conversions and walk-in showers
  • Waterproofing membranes, pans, and proper slope
  • Tile — floors, walls, surrounds, and niches
  • Vanities, tops, and storage
  • Plumbing fixtures and valves (licensed sub)
  • Lighting, exhaust fans, and GFCI circuits (licensed sub)
  • Drywall, texture matching, and paint
  • Flooring, trim, doors, and hardware
Where budgets go wrongThe number-one bathroom surprise is hidden water damage behind the old tub or shower. We can't see through walls either — but we write our estimates so the discovery process is priced as a unit cost up front, not a mid-job renegotiation.

Bathroom questions we get.

How long is my bathroom out of commission?
A straightforward tub-to-shower conversion is measured in days; a full gut runs in weeks. Your estimate includes a schedule, and if it's your only bathroom we plan the sequence so you're never without a working toilet overnight.
Can you just replace the shower and leave the rest?
Yes — focused scopes are fine. We'll tell you honestly if something adjacent (a soft subfloor, a failing valve) is worth doing while the wall is open, and price it as an option, not a requirement.
Who does the plumbing and electrical?
Licensed plumbing and electrical subs under our supervision, permitted and inspected per Washington requirements. It's all inside the one THL contract and warranty.
